GARDEN CLUB TO REMAKE TRIANGLE ENTRANCE TO THE NECK
The Warwick Neck Garden Club is excited to announce the 2020 Triangle Transformation project. Working with Lucas Murray, a professional landscape architect and Principal Planner for the City of Warwick, the garden club will redesign, restore and refresh the Triangle at the intersection of Warwick Neck Avenue and West Shore Road. This is the entrance to Warwick Neck that we drive by every day.
Watch for more details, drawings and updates on this website as the project progresses. You may have noticed that the ornamental grasses in front of the Warwick Neck sign have been removed and were replanted at the Warwick Neck Garage sign. In addition, the city has agreed to remove the Bradford Pear tree in the center of the triangle. It has reached the end of its 25 year expected lifespan. Lucas Murray drafted two potential redesigns for the Triangle: one with a new shorter and more colorful tree and one without a center tree, allowing the “Warwick Neck" sign to be the main focus of the Triangle. He shared them with the Garden Club in September. Follow up meetings took place to review the proposals and create a plan to move forward.
In an effort to transform the Triangle into something sustainable, special and beautiful we are seeking donations. To make a donation or if you have questions or thoughts, please call or email Hollie Edwardo at 401-641-0288 / hollieedwardo@gmail.com. Every little bit helps and is much appreciated!
In the meantime, for any of you not already members of the Garden Club, we welcome all new members and participants. The Club’s annual membership fee is $35.00 and its President, Sue Hodge, would be delighted to hear from you. Sue’s email is skehodge@gmail.com.
Special thanks to Mayor Solomon and his staff for their support.
